CFX Connect Real-Time PCR (qPCR)

Real-Time PCR (qPCR) is used for both qualitative and quantitative analysis. In comparison to ordinary PCR, Real-Time PCR allows the user to determine the original number of copies of template DNA. Data can be analyzed without gel electrophoresis and therefore shortens the entire process and ensures an increased throughput. Based on the polymerase, primers and product length, the CFX Connect system creates an optimal protocol. The thermal gradient feature will then identify the optimal annealing temperature in a single run. The reduced-mass sample block also produces the shortest time to reach the target temperature currently available in a thermal cycler.

C1000 Touch Gradient PCR Machine

The fully modular platform accommodates different throughput needs with reaction modules that are easily interchangeable without using tools. Each PCR module has a fully adjustable heated lid that can support a wide range of sealers and vessels. It comes with 2 protocol programming options and its large colour touch screen and redesigned navigation make editing and running protocols very simple. Using the programmable temperature gradient, the C1000 will quickly identify the optimal annealing temperatures.

Refrigerated Centrifuge

The Sigma 1-14K is a CFC-free refrigerated centrifuge that offers a rapid cooling program and runs at between 200 – 15 000 rpm. The temperature range is between -10°C to +40°C and keeps the samples at a guaranteed +4°C temperature at its maximum speed.

Refrigerated Centrifuge

PCR Workstation

This is a compact laminar flow enclosure that reduces the risk of contaminating samples whilst performing polymerase chain reaction experiments. Through a constant positive pressure, HEPA filtered air is circulated through the workspace and so airborne contaminants are prevented from entering the system. A 254 nanometer shortwave lamp decontaminates the workspace between amplifications, but safety interlocks are in place to protect the user from potential exposure to UV radiation. Because the PCR workstation offers a completely sterile workspace, it is ideal for studies that investigate ancient DNA.
